Douglas Chaney
President
Dallas/Fort Worth Roundtable CSCMP

Another year is upon us as and the changes in the economy, along with fuel prices, certainly headlines point to a time of great negativity, “Less Than Truckload (LTL): Batten Down the Hatches”, “Railroads: Volume Is Down, But Business Is Up”, “Truckload (TL): Fuel Eats Away Profits and Capacity”. However, I see this as an important year to adapt to the new realities of our business world and the supply chains which we manage.

As leaders in the supply chain arena, we have the responsibility to adapt to our changing business environments along with proactively driving out costs while improving supply chain performance simultaneously. This year we will do our part to answer some of those questions along with an in-depth look in the DFW Metroplex areas inherent strengths as a premier supply chain hub within North America.

Our first event at the Dannon Yogurt manufacturing plant, we will look at how the world leader in yogurt sales adapts to the pressures of a demanding retail industry through production scheduling, new products and continuously improving the performance and relationships with its customers.

August always a time of change here at the DFW roundtable. We have a new board of directors that is committed to providing the best year of events ever. Our Board includes:

• President - Douglas Chaney
• Vice President – Dr. Steve Swartz
• Programs – Ken Bagley
• Secretary – Baronda Bradley
• Treasurer – Justin Dillard
• Education Chair - Dr. Ila Manuj
• Membership Chair - Jenny Kelly
• Hospitality Chair - Clarissa Sebastian
• Sponsorship - Tom Zibton / Doug Klimko / Larry Goldman
• Past President - Dr. Zach Zacharia
• Technology - Greg Chalkley

I would like to thank our volunteers on the executive board for all of their help planning out the new year for the DFW CSCMP roundtable. If you are interested in volunteering or being involved in some leadership capacity in our roundtable please let us know. We can always use your help.

Thank you and I look forward to seeing you all at either the Dannon tour or the first kick off meeting in September.

NEW Pricing Policy for 2007-2008

As we begin a new program year filled with great speakers and exciting tours, the Board of Directors wanted to let you know about our new pricing policy. DFW CSCMP has deadlines that we have to meet with the OMNI Hotel to ensure they have enough resources to continue to provide our members with a great dining experience.

For attendance purposes, we must provide a firm headcount 72 hrs prior to each dinner. Anything after that deadline will now be considered a “Late Registration” and charged at a different rate than the “Early Registration”. We apologize for any confusion we’ve caused in this matter but just wanted to keep you informed. Below is a pricing breakdown for the dinner meetings at the OMNI hotel. For any questions, please contact DFW CSCMP Treasurer, Justin Dillard at justin.t.dillard@lmco.com.
